As a life insurance specialist, TAL offers a range of cover types through Accelerated Protection including: Life insurance; Critical Illness insurance; Total and Permanent Disability (TPD); Income Protection; and Business Expense insurance.

Through Accelerated Protection, you have the flexibility to choose the type of insurance cover to protect the current life stage you are at – a wedding, a new or existing mortgage, an addition to the family, or growing kids with school fees – it might even be a combination of more than one!

Accelerated Protection is an award-winning life insurance product backed by a fast application process which generally results in approvals within days. In some cases, you can have the insurance as a separate insurance plan, linked with other types of insurance cover or available as part of a superannuation account.

Life Insurance Plan

Life insurance cover pays a lump sum in the event of your death or diagnosis of a terminal illness.

Critical Illness Insurance Plan

Critical Illness insurance cover pays a lump sum on diagnosis of one of 37 specific medical conditions such as cancer, heart attack and stroke.

Two levels of Critical Illness insurance are offered:  

1. Critical Illness insurance Standard - pays a lump sum for a specified medical condition with some added benefits.
2. Critical Illness insurance Premier - pays a lump sum for a specified medical condition with our full suite of added benefits. Our Premier cover provides early payment for additional conditions including lower grade cancers.

Income Protection Plan

Income Protection insurance pays a replacement income if you can't work because you are sick or injured.

Three levels of cover are offered:

1. Income Protection Standard  - pays a monthly benefit of up to 75% of your income with some added benefits.
2. Income Protection Premier - pays a monthly benefit of up to 75% of your income with our full suite of added benefits.
3. Income Protection Optimal - pays a monthly benefit for a specified timeframe depending on the cause of disability.

Total and Permanent Disability Plan

Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance cover pays a lump sum if you are seriously disabled through accident, injury or illness and can't work again.

Business Expense Insurance Plan

Business Expense insurance covers you with a monthly benefit to reimburse you for a range of business expenses while you're not working and recovering from an illness or injury. 

Applying for Accelerated Protection

As an award winning life insurance product, Accelerated Protection is supported by a fast and convenient application process which generally results in approvals within days.

Your financial adviser

Your financial adviser can help you choose the cover that best suits you. They have the in-depth knowledge required to guide you in securing a plan that is right for your circumstances. Only your Financial Adviser can submit an Accelerated Protection application on your behalf.

No lengthy forms

Once you have answered questions about your medical and family history and pastimes, your financial adviser will then submit your application either online or on paper.  It's simple - no lengthy forms means less time waiting for an acceptance notification.

Reduced need for medical reports

In most cases, there is no need for medical reports. After your application has been submitted, where possible and depending on the answers you've supplied, you will be given an immediate decision on your cover.

Fast decisions

Accelerated Protection means that in many cases you will be notified of an immediate acceptance, meaning you’ll be covered automatically!

However, if your application is not automatically accepted then it will be referred to our underwriting team who may then contact you by phone to gain more information before making a decision about your cover.
