TAL Super is a plan within the Retail Division in the Mercer Super Trust (ABN 19 905 422 981) (the Fund). Mercer Superannuation (Australia) Limited (ABN 79 004 717 533, AFSL 235906) is Trustee of the Fund.

Retail Insurance

You may choose to structure your Accelerated Protection policies through superannuation by becoming a member of TAL Super. This means the trustee of the fund becomes the Policy Owner and you become a member of the fund.

Group Insurance

TAL Risk Only Super Plan

Your employer may provide insurance benefits for you through the TAL Risk Only Super Plan (ROSP).

ROSP provides benefits under a group insurance policy owned by Mercer Superannuation (Australia) Limited (ABN 79 004 717 533) as trustee for TAL Super, a division of the Mercer Super Trust.2 As an insured employee you will be provided with a non-accumulation account in TAL Super.

TAL Employee Insurance Plan

Changes coming soon for new permanent employees joining from 1 April 2024

For permanent employees of TAL prior to 31 March 2024, there are no changes to their sum insured or benefits under the product and these remain in force. However, no new members will be accepted to the plan.

For permanent employees of TAL from 1 April 2024 a new benefit design will be available from 1 October 2024. You will be notified when you are provided cover and this website will be updated with a new PDS and TMD from this date.

TAL provides its eligible employees with Life and Total and Permanent Disablement cover through the TAL Employee Insurance Plan (TEIP). The insurance benefits are provided under a group insurance policy owned by Mercer Superannuation (Australia) Limited (ABN 79 004 717 533) as trustee for TAL Super, a division of the Mercer Super Trust.3 As an insured employee you will be provided with a non-accumulation account in TAL Super.

Life Insurance Documents means your life insurance Product Disclosure Statement/Customer Information Brochure and Policy Document issued to you in relation to the life insurance product you currently hold either within, or are considering transferring into, the Fund. This also includes any subsequent notices or updated policy documentation issued in relation to the above.

  2. Prior to 1 June 2021, ROSP was provided under the TAL Superannuation and Insurance Fund.

  3. Prior to 1 June 2021, TEIP was provided under the TAL Superannuation and Insurance Fund.
