How we do our part
Our Community Foundation is focused on supporting communities through a combination of monetary donations and skill-based volunteering.
Initially, our key areas of focus include:
- Indigenous communities
- children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and
- mental wellbeing.
We have a staff fundraising matching program
To help do our part, we’ve rolled out a staff fundraising matching program to support our key focus areas. This means that money which our employees raise through fundraising can be matched by TAL dollar-for-dollar, providing twice the support to those who need it.
This helps our people to amplify their impact towards our shared goal of improving the lives of Australians.
We support the growth of Indigenous communities
We believe that through partnerships we can better reach our goal of supporting Australian communities. So we’ve partnered with Jawun – a not-for-profit organisation – to work with Indigenous communities around Australia.
With Jawun, we send TAL team members into communities, where they can use their skills to help drive change and build capacity for local government, and businesses set up by Indigenous Australians.
We support children and their futures
We’re also partnering with the Australian Business and Community Network to develop a mentoring program that links TAL employees with students, supporting them to develop the critical skills that will assist them in developing their careers.
We promote mental wellbeing
We take a holistic approach to helping our communities get the most out of this Australian life. To support the health and wellbeing of Australians we have formed partnerships with the Movember Foundation and Superfriend.
The Movember Foundation is focused on tackling men's heath and we're proud to partner with them to address one of the biggest health issues faced by men, mental health.
Superfriend is a national not-for-profit foundation, working to foster mentally healthy, supportive work environments where people can thrive. With some of our super fund partners, we’ve committed to donating over $1 million every year to Superfriend. Beyond that we also commit time and expertise to sit on a number of their reference and working groups.
