Ways to get life insurance

Looking into the four ways you can get life insurance.

The choice is yours

No two lives are the same. So when it comes to life insurance, we believe in giving Australians options.

You can get TAL cover in four different ways – the choice is yours. Here’s how they work.

Directly from us

If you like to take control, you can buy cover directly from us. Our Life Insurance Specialists will give you all the information you need to help you make an informed decision.

We’re only a phone call away on 1800 706 588. Or, you can leave your details and we’ll be in touch.

Through a financial adviser

If you prefer, you can have a conversation with a qualified financial adviser who will work with you to assess your financial situation and identify your goals.

By getting to know you and the future you’ve planned, an adviser can make an insurance recommendation that’s personalised to you. This can be the beginning of an ongoing relationship with you, so a financial adviser can make sure your cover changes as your life does.

Through your super fund

Most Australians have some sort of default life insurance through their super fund. Because the cost of your insurance premiums is deducted from your super balance, your everyday budget isn’t disrupted. However it’s important to make sure you keep making super contributions.

Usually this is a basic level of cover so it could be worth considering topping it up. You should also know that there are some restrictions on getting cover through super, and Recovery Insurance is not included.

TAL partners with many leading superfunds to offer an affordable way for Australians to protect their future choices.

Through your employer

Your workplace may offer TAL cover as an employee benefit at a discounted price. The amount and type of cover depends on your employer – but you’ll get the same award-winning TAL experience.

Speak with your workplace HR team, or check on your intranet page for more information about how it works and how to take it up.
