TAL Risk Academy continues to promote and reinforce professionalism in advice with second Code of Ethics series

Media Release -

To encourage financial advisers to be across recent client determinations in relation to the Financial Adviser Code of Ethics, TAL Risk Academy is dedicating the month of May to training related to Professionalism and Ethics.

To mark the second year of Ethics Month, TAL Risk Academy—the Australian life insurer’s leading education platform for advisers—will introduce four new courses focused on navigating conflicts, ethical dilemmas, recent client determinations and how embedding ethics can shape their client advice and daily business practices.

Presented by the TAL technical team, Ethics Month will feature weekly live webinars that dissect key sections of the Code of Ethics, analyse real-world scenarios, and give advisers tools to confidently navigate ethical dilemmas.

TAL National Sales Development Manager Jason Bamford said TAL was pleased to bring back Ethics Month and continue to promote professionalism in advice, especially after the high demand and positive feedback the series received in 2023 with over 1,700 enrolments.

“TAL’s Ethics Month is designed to support advisers in their compliance with the Code of Ethics and provide a practical understanding of this important topic.”

“Ethical decision-making lies at the heart of responsible financial advice practice. In today’s complex and rapidly evolving advice landscape, advisers are regularly faced with complex ethical dilemmas. Our aim with Ethics Month is to empower advisers with the knowledge and resources to confidently navigate these challenges.”

“This series will offer insights and tools which can be applied in practical, real-world scenarios, giving all participants the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills to better serve their clients,” concluded Mr Bamford.

Each webinar will contribute an hour of CPD, or up to four hours, towards the annual requirement of nine Professionalism and Ethics hours. The new courses are live and while not available on-demand, will complement TAL’s existing library of on-demand ethics content. The CPD calendar ends on June 30 for most advisers.

To enrol in the TAL Risk Academy, advisers can contact their local TAL Sales Representative or visit the TAL Adviser Centre.
