TAL announces Executive appointments

TAL today announces two appointments to the Executive Team.

General Manager Retail Distribution, Niall McConville said that TAL appreciates the substantial changes advisers face and is committed to supporting them and their business through the transition.

Mr Justin Delaney has been appointed the role of Chief Operating Officer and Ms Anne Clarke appointed the role of Chief General Counsel. Both roles are newly created.

TAL Group CEO Brett Clark said the appointments to the TAL Executive Leadership team are strategically important appointments to TAL executing on its strategy.

"We face a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment and it is the right time to create these roles and Justin and Anne are the right people to join the TAL Executive Team. We undertook an extensive recruitment process and I am delighted at the high calibre of these two very well respected and talented individuals joining the TAL team."

Justin will be responsible for all of TAL's core life insurance commercial outcomes, product manufacturing, customer and partner services, ensuring TAL delivers on its strategy by delivering high quality, innovative product solutions and services for TAL's customers, whether through our important partners or direct.

"Justin is a very experienced senior wealth management and life insurance executive with strong experience in operations, strategy, value creation and building organisations to deliver efficient, well designed products and service capabilities," Mr Clark said.

Justin is currently Head of Wealth Products and Platforms in the Banking and Financial Services Group at Macquarie Bank. Prior to this role he was Head of Insurance at Macquarie Life.

Anne will be responsible for representing TAL externally to support our engagement and contribution to the industry and regulatory agendas in our market. Anne will support TAL to achieve its business objectives within the regulatory and legal environment, providing broad strategic advice and managing important regulatory relationships.

"Anne is a very experienced senior wealth management lawyer and is highly regarded in the industry for both her technical skill and her ability to operate and communicate at Senior Executive, Board and Regulator levels. Anne also has a reputation for her comprehensive knowledge of the commercial and industry environment," Mr Clark said.

Anne joins from AMP and prior to that she was Executive Counsel at Herbert Smith Freehills.

Anne will join TAL on 28 September and Justin will begin on 6 October.
