TAL launches 2022 Risk Academy program

2022 -

Leading Australian life insurer, TAL, is continuing to deliver flexible and focused education for financial advisers with the launch today of the TAL Risk Academy 2022 program.

The TAL Risk Academy 2022 program is a comprehensive suite of new and updated courses with learning pathways for advisers at every stage of their career.

New this year are Income Protection and Ethics courses, the new Professional Year program and an expanded library of CPD-accredited articles.

The 2022 TAL Risk Academy program offers more than 80 on-demand and live courses, with four key areas of focus including: Income Protection, Growing Your Business, Professional Year and Business Insurance.

TAL General Manager, Retail Distribution Individual Life, Niall McConville, said the 2022 program had been designed to provide an even greater range of virtual, on-demand and face-to-face courses, from entry-level foundation courses for those new to advice, through to advanced, technical topics for more experienced advisers.

Mr McConville said: “Now in its eighth year, we’re really proud to continue offering and evolving the TAL Risk Academy with flexible courses that are aligned to advisers’ current education needs.”

“We’re here to support new entrants through their Professional Year and guide experienced advisers through product changes and implementing new strategies, and we’ll be adding even more courses through the year.”

The TAL Risk Academy courses are grouped into the following main areas:

  1. Advice skills and training – Courses focused on entry-level to advanced advice strategies, technical expertise and client engagement skills.
  2. Business management – Courses focused on strategy and marketing to help advisers grow their business.
  3. Education and professionalism – Courses focused on supporting advisers with the latest industry requirements, from the Financial Adviser Exam to the Code of Ethics.
  4. Professional year – A structured program for new entrants, designed to build knowledge and key skills from risk advice and strategy to client conversations and exam preparation.

TAL Risk Academy was launched in 2015 and the program is continually reviewed and updated in response to adviser feedback and a dynamic industry landscape.

The majority of TAL Risk Academy courses are free, aside from the Risk Academy Masterclasses which incur a $55 fee that TAL donates to the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN), which helps young Australians from lower socio-economic backgrounds access quality education. To date, the TAL Risk Academy has donated more than $750,000 to the ABCN.

Advisers last year scored TAL Risk Academy on average 4.7 out of 5 stars across all courses. Since inception, TAL Risk Academy has provided more than 85,000 CPD hours and over 13,500 advisers have registered.

To enrol in the TAL Risk Academy or download a copy of the 2022 course guide, advisers can contact their local TAL Sales representative or visit the TAL Adviser Centre.
