TAL Risk Academy supports advisers with key FASEA exam topics

2020 -

Leading Australian life insurer, TAL, has developed a new webinar that supports financial advisers with the key areas of underperformance identified in the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) exam.

Run through TAL’s adviser education program, TAL Risk Academy, the webinar explores the FASEA exam topics that FASEA highlighted as weaknesses, and it provides webinar attendees with a framework for learning success.

The exam topics covered in the TAL Risk Academy webinar include:
  • Financial advice regulatory and legal requirements;
  • Financial advice construction;
  • Applied ethical and professional reasoning and communication.

TAL Head of Licensees and Partnerships, Beau Riley, said, “With the release of the June FASEA exam results, FASEA outlined specific areas of weakness which have been displayed by candidates generally. The purpose of TAL’s new webinar is to highlight these areas of weakness and to provide learning material and practice tests that enable exam candidates to cover these areas appropriately in their exam preparation.

“The FASEA exam can be a daunting process, and our goal is to support advisers with guidance that enables them to focus their studies and preparation so they can sit the exam with confidence,” said Mr Riley.

Senior Financial Adviser at Financial Planning Brisbane, Jake Wilkins, attended the TAL Risk Academy FASEA MasterClass ahead of sitting his exam earlier this year. He said, “I would like to thank the team at TAL who conducted a 2-Day intensive MasterClass to help us prepare for this exam. TAL’s guidance and expertise is incredible and it allowed me to focus my attention in the right areas.

“The FASEA exam was very difficult but I am incredibly thankful for the process and the advancements it means for the financial advice industry as it journeys to become a recognised profession,” he said.

The TAL Risk Academy courses are designed to give advisers flexible learning options and continued support with their education requirements. Throughout the year, TAL listens to feedback from licensees and advisers and evolves the TAL Risk Academy courses in line with market developments to meet advisers’ needs.

The webinar, “Explore difficult FASEA exam topics”, is free of charge and available on demand for all financial advisers.
