Australia’s largest life insurer TAL has won two major awards recognising its technological capability and leadership.
TAL won the ACORD Global Industry Leadership Award at a ceremony in the USA for its leadership in the areas of global technology standards development, advocacy and implementation.
The award follows the development in 2013 by TAL of web-based digital technology for the group insurance market that was the first in the world to meet a new global standard for the group life insurance industry.
The initiative automated underwriting and claims interactions with one of TAL’s superannuation fund business partners to seamlessly share and transfer data and customer information, resulting in better data quality and security as well as faster and more effective outcomes for customers.

Separately, TAL has also been presented with the 2014 Innovation Award by global unified communications company, Interactive Intelligence, at their annual Australia and New Zealand customer engagement conference Engage.
This award recognises outstanding execution and innovation using technology in the outbound call centres of TAL’s consumer brand InsuranceLine.

The accolades follow the recent awarding to TAL of the 2014 Employer of the Year Award and being declared runner-up in the three product categories and the overall excellence award of the Plan for Life – Direct Life Insurance Excellence Awards 2014.
