Bar Beach pop up offers free skin spotchecks

2017 -

Bar Beach pop up offers free skin spotchecks from a professional this weekend.

Locals encouraged to get a ‘SpotCheck’ so they can enjoy this Australian summer without any worries.

With warmer weather right around the corner, a new initiative is offering Newcastle residents the chance to enjoy a worry-free summer thanks to a free skin check next Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December.

The TAL SpotChecker program, rolled out for the first time at Bondi Beach in November and now popping up at Newcastle’s Bar Beach next weekend, is offering free professional skin checks so that sun-smart locals can kick off their summer with no worries.

TAL are always thinking of new ways to protect every aspect of this Australian life, and helping the Australian community understand sun safety is one of them. Skin cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia. Research shows that early detection can increase your chances of successful treatment.*

TAL’s Chief Customer and Innovation Office, Fiona Macgregor said: “The TAL SpotChecker program is one of a number of ways we are looking at to interact with the community in a meaningful way, while delivering a benefit that allows all Aussies to truly enjoy this Australian life.”

“With 200 skin checks, our goal is to both detect and prevent skin cancers, in order to enable Aussies to embrace this Australian summer with the confidence of knowing they have had their skin checked out by a professional.”

Anyone interested can pre-register at talspotchecker.com.au to reserve their free skin check from a professional GP on either Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December, while limited places will also be made available for walk ins over the weekend.
