TAL Risk Academy unveils 2025 second half program featuring industry experts and expanded learning initiatives

TAL has today unveiled TAL Risk Academy’s program for the second half of 2025, helping advisers grow their knowledge, enhance client outcomes and stay ahead in an evolving industry.

As TAL Risk Academy marks a decade of empowering financial advisers with access to quality education, the new program introduces fresh, practical learning opportunities. These range from expert-led sessions on legislative change and ethics to expanded support for Professional Year candidates and tailored webinars for client service teams.

Gavin Teichner, Chief Executive Individual Life at TAL, said: “With TAL Risk Academy, we’re building long-term partnerships—supporting advisers with knowledge and tools that help them deliver great outcomes for their clients and grow thriving, sustainable practices.”

“Our 10-year milestone is not just about longevity. It’s about the positive impact of supporting advisers through every stage of their career with practical and relevant and expert-led training.”

The 2025 July–December program will welcome more industry thought leaders, beginning with Phil Anderson, General Manager, Policy, Advocacy & Standards at the FAAA. Anderson’s session will unpack the implications of recent legislative updates, regulatory shifts and the role of life insurance in the evolving advice landscape.

Following the success of Ethics Month in May, which attracted over 2,000 adviser enrolments and earned an average satisfaction rating of 4.6 out of 5, TAL Risk Academy will introduce a 'Mini Ethics Month' in October. This initiative includes a new course exploring real-world ethical dilemmas and professional integrity, featuring interactive case studies on navigating challenges.

To support adviser development at all stages, TAL Risk Academy continues its support for Professional Year (PY) candidates, with 405 new candidates joining in FY24, up from 251 in FY23.

Recognising how important service teams are in delivering for clients, TAL will also launch a new monthly webinar series tailored to them. These sessions will offer practical strategies to improve administrative processes, client communication and retention, delivering everyday value and fostering connection with the broader advice community.

Jason Bamford, National Sales Development Manager at TAL, said: “Advisers want content that’s relevant, practical and delivered by experienced professionals. Education is a core pillar of how we support advisers, and we’ve seen rising demand for high-quality training, particularly around ethics as the advice industry continues to evolve.”

To enrol in the TAL Risk Academy, advisers can contact their local TAL Sales Representative or visit the TAL Adviser Centre.
